Long before finished his medical school, dr. Surya has put interest on holistic aspect of human health. He believes to conduct an optimum health, there must be balance between physical body, mind, emotion and spiritual aspect. Western modern medical concept combined with traditional concept of Chinese medicine for the best healing result.
dr. Surya finished his medical school at Udayana University. During his practice as general practioner (GP), he found many clinical cases that reinforce the fact that many disease is not merely physical problem. Mind and body connection in psycho-somatic illness needs another tools beside tons of drug. This is one reason why He decided to advanced his skill on clinical hypnotherapy at Adi W Gunawan Institute of Mind Technology, the only one hypnotherapy institute in Indonesia approved by American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (ACHE – USA).
After several years’ practice as GP at public hospital, He found that poly pharmacy is serious issues especially on elderly patient. He started to think about another modality to treat patient with less chemical drugs. Wrap-up together with his passion on combining between west and east healing approach, he started to fall in love with acupuncture. He took a specialist degree of medical acupuncture for another several years at Faculty of Medicine Indonesia University. In this specialist degree, he has competency in all range of medical acupuncture, from manual acupuncture, electroacupuncture, thread embedment acupuncture, and painless laser acupuncture. He also deepens his knowledge and skill on traditional acupuncture with various prominent acupuncture master in the world; Renowned Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese Style, Manaka Japanese style of acupuncture, Tung style, Tan-balancing system, Pregnancy Acupuncture, Pediatric Acupunture, Micro-acupuncture including YNSA, Zhu scalp, and Indian Scalp acupuncture, etc. By using integrated system of acupuncture, he has witnessed many healing process of “difficult clinical case” that occurred amazingly.
Recently beside working as medical acupuncture specialist, dr. Surya has established Yayasan Syukur Bhuwana Semesta to share Syukur Sejati Meditation Curriculum to community for free. Many of participants has confessed that they relieved their anxiety, fear, sadness, anger, improve their health and find their true happiness through this meditation.
